Today, I will be sharing with you how to use quotes of founding fathers to teach American History with the Charlotte Mason method. Our family loves American History and the founding of our country. I believe that the Charlotte Mason method of education has helped to raise that patriotism in our family, as we have studied the founding fathers and their beliefs, sacrifices and devotion to scriptures.
Within the Charlotte Mason method living books are the core curriculum for all the subjects. Coupled with biographies and quotes, history can really come to live, literally jumping off the pages of the book and igniting a sense of adventure and loyalty to ones country, countrymen and God. Introducing yourself and your children through words of worthy men who were instrumental in forming our great nation and allowing them the privilege of a glimpse into the conditions that formed such thoughts into normal men rising to superior standards for a cause that to many seemed impossible. When circumstance and necessities were begging these man to raise the white flag of surrender, it was the spoken words of patriots surrounding them that stirred them on further. Strengthened them to finish what was started.
It was words like these, spoken in conditions that surrounded our founding fathers, these devotion that gained us ‘One Nation Under God’.
